Stylist Joanne King selected a hair color that really compliments Melissa's skin tone. Her natural hair color was already beautiful, so Joanne wanted to enhance the tonal value and brighten her up just a bit with some warm sun kissed highlights around her face. She also used Shades E.Q. (an equalizing color Gloss), which is very gentle on the hair, to gave it a nice shine. She used a high lift Blonding gel with a combination of curry and cayenne, to spice up her color and add a little bit of warmth.
Next came the hair cut. Melissa had all one length hair and added layering to move the emphasis up toward eyes. Joanne wanted to create movement and draw more attention to her cheek bone and gorgeous eyes. She also wanted to make sure that the new cut was something that Melissa could manage daily on her own. "I want Melissa to be able to look as great every day as she did the day of her makeover, so it is important for me to teach her how to duplicate her look at home," says Joanne.
Heather gave Melissa a relaxing spa pedicure, and painted a fun watermelon design on her toes. Christine applied Melissa's makeup, focusing on warm tones as well to enhance her already beautiful features. Melissa also had her brows shaped to bring out her eyes.
"She stunned me. She looked wonderful," says her appreciative husband Bill. That kind of comment makes it all worthwhile. |
